DESCRIPTION:This leadership training will focus on the challenges supervisors face in construction related industries\, and is designed to help you become a more effective leader. Regardless if you are new to the supervisor position\, have overseen employees for decades\, manage one employee or many dozens; participants will gain valuable knowledge and takeaway key action items surrounding the following topics. Thanks to the new one-day format\, there are two options to send your key leaders to this impactful training.   \nWe are excited to partner with Tom Esch from Esch Consulting (eschconsulting.com). Tom has successfully trained thousands of construction workers about the art of effective communication and leadership skills leading to greatly improved overall company culture. Tom’s presentations are as entertaining as they are informative thanks to his exceptional experience\, knowledge and expertise on the subject matter at hand.\n1. Being accountable\, holding others accountable\n2. The “reptilian brain” and how it affects safety and judgment\n3. The benefits of the three-way communication process\n4. Uncomfortable conversation training: accountability requires it\n5. Rank\, power\, and safety\n6. Situational & relational intelligence for people who don’t say much about feelings\n7. Mental health in the workplace  \nThis one-day course is from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the TBG Office\, 2919 Eagandale Blvd\, Eagan\, Minn. 55121. Lunch will be provided. \nTo register\, please sign-up through the ticket process below. TBG Members receive one free seat a year. Any additional attendees will pay a $50 fee. SUMMARY:Comprehensive Fall Protection 8-Hour
DESCRIPTION:TBG is proud to provide our members with world-class fall protection training. Certified by the 3M® Personal Safety Division\, TBG offers in-depth\, hands-on instruction that helps prepare workers to recognize hazards and perform safely at height. \nUpon successful completion of this 8-hour course\, participants will immediately receive an interim certificate valid for 60 days. The level 1 certificate should arrive within 30 days. \nThe course will cover: \n\nFall hazard identification\nFundamentals of working at height\nFall protection oversight\nPassive systems\nAdministrative controls\nFall arrest system components\nHarness donning and inspection\nEquipment care\nRescue requirements\nSystem selection and set-up\n\nFor a full course description\, please visit the 3M Safety Training site at 3MST-6418-brochure-en.pdf \nLunch will be provided to attendees. \nPlease note that this session includes hands-on activities\, so wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes suitable for climbing and movement. SUMMARY:Construction Safety Orientation Course for New and Returning Employees
DESCRIPTION:TBG Safety Services Association is excited to offer a new course to help Member companies welcome new and returning employees into a culture of workplace safety. \nNew hires face some of the highest risk on the jobsite\, with nearly half of construction injuries occurring within a worker’s first two years in the trades. To help crews start strong\, our Safety Services team is offering monthly New Employee Safety Training beginning in February\, covering common hazards like fall protection\, ladder safety\, PPE\, and more to reinforce safe habits early on \nThis free\, four-hour class is designed for newer construction workers but is also suitable for employees joining a new company\, and or all construction workers as a good basic refresher training. \nOver the morning session\, our safety team will cover topics like: \n\nWorkplace Safety Basics\, Safety Philosophy\, and OSHA Regulations\nWork Comp Basics\, Injury Reporting\, Company Safety Programs/Policies/Culture\nWorksite Safety Hierarchy\, Responsibilities\, Subcontractors vs General Contractors\nConstruction Hazards and Controls (adjusted based on audience potentially)\n\nPPE\nScaffolding\nFall Protection\nLadders\nExcavations (highlights only)\nConfined Spaces (highlights only)\nStruck By Caught in Between\nMaterial Handling and Housekeeping\nHazard Communication (Heat\, Cold\, Silica\, RTK)\n\n\n\nCoffee\, water and light breakfast snacks will be provided to attendees. \nFor questions with registration\, please contact Emily at ecutts@tbgmn.com.
