Building Tomorrow’s Industry Leaders: TBG Sponsors St. Thomas University’s Risk Management & Insurance Program

Mirroring our commitment to Minnesota’s construction industry, our connection to the insurance industry runs deep. Just as we invest in safety and innovation to protect more than 38,000 local construction workers, we also invest in the future of the entire risk management industry.

Our Partnership With St. Thomas University

This commitment is most recently reflected in our $30,000 sponsorship of the University of St. Thomas’ Risk Management and Insurance (RM&I) program. As a self-insured workers’ compensation fund built by contractors, for contractors, we understand how essential a strong, stable insurance ecosystem is to the construction industry — and to the professionals who power it.

St. Thomas has become a standout institution in the field. Since launching its RM&I certificate in 2021, the university has rapidly grown enrollment, added new faculty and introduced a wide range of student opportunities, including international study, industry panels, career fairs and a strong partnership with Gamma Iota Sigma.

Supporting the Next Generation of RM&I Professionals

For TBG, supporting this program is a natural fit. Our operations rely on accurate actuarial forecasting, strategic partnerships with reinsurers and the strength of our broker network across Minnesota. We also participate in national and local risk management committees and maintain a strong commitment to supporting the next generation of professionals who will carry this work forward with skill and integrity.

By contributing to scholarships and the growth of the St. Thomas RM&I Center, we’re helping ensure students from all backgrounds gain exposure to careers in underwriting, claims, actuarial science and beyond. It’s an investment in both the future of our industry and the health of our communities.

Because when we build smarter, safer workplaces today, we build stronger leaders for tomorrow.
