How The Builders Group Helped Choice Insurance Agency Achieve Safety Success and Lower Costs

How The Builders Group Helps Choice Insurance Agency’s Clients Achieve Safety Success & Lower Costs

We understand that safety is more than just a requirement – it’s a cornerstone of business success. Ben Brunn of Choice Insurance Agency shared a success story about how one of their clients turned their safety practices around with our expert guidance.

Before working with us, the client’s modification factor was around 1.21, leading to higher insurance rates and less-than-optimal safety results. After partnering with TBG, the client’s modification factor dropped to 0.90, resulting in a 25% reduction in their rates and the start of building dividends in their account.

With a strong focus on safety culture, our experts provide the tools and expertise to help businesses achieve better results, reduce risks and improve their bottom line. This story is a testament to the lasting impact of our tailored safety programs and the value they bring to businesses striving for success.

Winter Hazards: Keeping Your Workforce Safe this Season

Winter Hazards: Keeping Your Workforce Safe this Season

Winter brings a unique set of hazards that can compromise safety on the job site and in the office. From slick, icy walkways to the risks of frostbite and hypothermia, staying vigilant and proactive about protecting your team is crucial.

With safety as our top priority, TBG is committed to providing our Members with practical resources to navigate the colder months and ensure a safe, productive work environment. See what winter hazards you must watch out for and how to keep your workforce safe this season.

Key Winter Hazards to Watch Out For:

Slips, Trips & Falls

Snow, ice and wet surfaces can quickly turn a safe workspace into a slippery hazard. To prevent falls, regularly remove snow and ice from surfaces like walkways, scaffolding and ladders, and salt and sand areas prone to slipping. Also, consider providing your team with winter traction cleats, and check for hidden slippery patches under the snow.

Frostbite and Hypothermia

Extended exposure to cold weather can cause frostbite and hypothermia. To help mitigate these risks, ensure your team wears proper layered clothing, stays hydrated and takes regular breaks in heated areas.

Falling Objects

Accumulated snow and ice can create dangerous conditions where falling objects may occur. Regularly inspect and clear overhead structures, and always have workers wear hard hats when working in these areas.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

In colder weather, workers often rely on combustion engines in enclosed spaces. These engines can produce toxic gases like carbon monoxide, posing serious health risks. Ensure your work areas are properly ventilated and always use a carbon monoxide detector to monitor air quality.

Prevention & Resources

Use this winter as an opportunity to review your safety protocols and ensure your equipment is ready for the colder months. Regular inspections, using proper safety gear and encouraging employees to report hazards are key steps to keeping your workforce safe.

Let’s make this winter a safe one. Contact TBG today to learn more about how our hands-on safety services can help keep your workforce safe and successful no matter the season.
