THE 15TH ANNUAL TBG EDUCATION FOUNDATION GOLF OUTING

The TBG Education Foundation’s sole mission is to inspire a new generation of young men and women to discover the wide variety of viable career opportunities available in the building trades. With the workforce shortage looming like a dark cloud over the construction industry, we’ve redoubled our commitment to building a bigger and brighter future for the construction trades. That’s why this year’s TBG Education Foundation Golf Outing will be our biggest and most exciting event since we first hit the links 15 years ago.

Each year, over a hundred golfers participate for a chance to win great prizes and to help make a difference in the lives of those who work in the construction industry. When you tee it up this July, you’ll help provide Minnesota’s youth with the grants, scholarships and apprenticeships they need to build the future of the construction trades. Together we’ll build the future one putt at a time.

TBG Safety Services Trailer

For years, our Members have been pouring in by the busload to get hands-on safety training in our state-of-the-art safety training center and safety classroom. However, as business ramped up and construction companies expanded to jobs out of state, it became harder for many of our Members to make the trip to TBG. That’s why we’ve partnered with ABC of MN/ND (Associated Builders and Contractors) to take job site safety the extra mile with the all-new TBG Safety Trailer.

The TBG Safety Trailer can conduct indoor and outdoor hands-on training sessions as a mobile training command center. From fall protection training to confined space training, tool safety, and beyond, your employees can now access the most advanced and up-to-date safety services, no matter where they work.

Safety is always our number one concern. Our Members have seen 197 fewer accidents this past year than the previous year. While that’s a good start, we’re always continuing to improve our safety offerings — striving to reduce workplace accidents and injuries even further. The TBG Safety Trailer advances our commitment to helping our Members work safer, smarter, and more profitably.

Equipment On The TBG Safety Services Trailer Includes:

  • Air Compressor
  • Circular Saw
  • Confined Space Tri-Pod
  • Corded Drill

TBG Dividend Announcement

October 27, 2017

TBG Dividend Announcement

It is my pleasure to announce that for the 2nd time in as many years, TBG will be distributing a dividend to our Members. On July 27, 2017 the TBG Board of Directors approved the first dividend distribution for the 2013 fund year and the second distribution for the 2012 fund year. We are very proud to be in the financial position to pay a dividend for the second year in a row. Our regulator has approved the dividend distribution so we now can announce it publicly.

The ability to pay this dividend is mainly the result of a couple of factors. First is the support of our Members and their commitment to working safe over the years. Another is TBG’s dedication to controlling workers’ compensation costs through safety services training, proactive claims management, and a dedicated nurse care line.

Under the guidelines of our dividend policy, the total amount that will be paid for those two years is $1,135,914. The payment to eligible Members will be recalculated in April of 2018 with updated membership and claims information as of 12-31-2016 and paid at the end of April 2018. If your renewal is 4-1 or prior, you will receive an estimate of your dividend with your renewal quote.

To qualify for a dividend, a Member has to meet three basic criteria:

  1. You were a Member of the fund during the year the dividend is based on.
  2. You must be a Member on the date the dividend is paid.
  3. Your loss ratio must be less than the breakeven loss ratio for the fund year the dividend is paid from.

Thank you for your support and loyalty to The Builders Group and for helping us make workers’ comp work. Together with your referrals we can continue to enjoy a return on our investment for years to come.

Regards,

Stu Thompson, CEO
